AHEAD of the planned MICA redress demonstration in Dublin tomorrow, SDLP Leader Colum Eastwood MP has pledged his support for those affected.

Said the Foyle MP: “The MICA scandal affected thousands of families, which has seen houses literally crumble because of faulty building blocks.

“Homeowners are rightly furious at the current situation they are in through no fault of their own.

“The heart-breaking testimonies of homeowners who worked all their lives to build their dream home to retire to are now left with few options.

“Families affected, their friends and neighbours have taken matters into their own hands and have mounted an impressive, grassroots campaign for justice and redress.

“As we speak, more homes are decaying with no end in sight.

“Most cannot afford to start again, nor should they have to-it’s important that the state addresses this issue urgently.

“The protesters and those living through this nightmare have my full support.”
