Said the Foyle: “Survivors of these horrific institutions have waited too long for justice and it’s important that the inquiry gets underway without delay.
“The inquiry must be co-designed by survivors of mother and baby homes.
“We cannot have a repeat of previous incidents where people were left feeling excluded or retraumatised.
“In my role as Executive Office Committee chair I will continue to work with survivors and to ensure their voices are heard and their views are represented.
“I will do everything I can to ensure that any public inquiry delivers on the needs of survivors.
“I will also ensure that the full recommendations of the expert Truth and Recovery Design Panel are implemented.”
