THE Department of Health has reported one further Covid-19-related deaths in the past 24 hours in the North of Ireland.
Deaths are measured by recording those who died within 28 days of receiving a positive result in a test for Coronavirus.
The total number of deaths linked to Covid-19 in North of Ireland since the start of the pandemic is at 3,015.
This latest death was not recorded in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.
Today’s data from the Department of Health shows there has been a further 3,420 positive cases of Coronavirus in the North of Ireland, a rise 714 on figures given yesterday for Sunday.
It includes cases confirmed from samples taken in previous days, not necessarily just in the latest 24-hour reporting period.
As of today, the number of positive cases confirmed in the past seven days was 33,666.
The statistics show that in the past 24 hours there has been a further 335 Covid-19 cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area, a rise of 98 on figures given yesterday for Sunday.
Over the past seven days, there were 3,581 cases recorded in the Derry and Strabane Council area.
The infection rates within Derry and Strabane is still the highest of all councils in the North of Ireland, and has fallen to 2,369.8 cases per 100,000.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now at 105 per cent.
The Department of Health records that 192 people (mostly in hospitals) have died from Coronavirus in the Derry City and Strabane Council area.
There are currently 440 patients with Covid-19 in hospital here.
There are 31 patients with Covid-19 being treated in intensive care units, with 22 people on ventilators.
There are 50 people (down one on Friday’s figures) being treated in Altnagelvin Hospital with Coronavirus with six people in intensive care.
The figures show that 13.71 per cent of beds in Altnagelvin Hospital are occupied by people with Coronavirus and it is running at 8 per cent over capacity for beds.
The Department of Health reports that 203 care homes in the North of Ireland are dealing with an outbreak of Coronavirus, with 1,040 closed cases of Covid-19 in care homes here.
In the Western Trust area, 29 of its 68 care homes are dealing with a Coronavirus outbreak.
A total of 3,585,875 vaccines for Covid-19 had been administered in the North of Ireland as of Tuesday.
Of that total, 1,406,701 were first doses, 1,301,888 were second doses and the remaining were third doses.
There have been 857,909 booster vaccines delivered.
