THE Department of Health has reported one further Covid-19-related death over the past 24 hours in the North of Ireland.
This latest death was not recorded outside the current reporting period.
Deaths are measured by recording those who died within 28 days of receiving a positive result in a test for Coronavirus.
The total number of deaths linked to Covid-19 in North of Ireland recorded by the Department of Health since the start of the pandemic is at 3,208.
Sadly, over the weekened one further further death was recorded in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.
Today’s data from the Department of Health shows there has been a further 1,908 positive cases of Coronavirus in the North of Ireland, a rise of 356 on figures given yesterday for Saturday.
It includes cases confirmed from samples taken in previous days, not necessarily just in the latest 24-hour reporting period.
As of today, the number of positive cases confirmed in the past seven days was 14,748.
The statistics show that in the past 24 hours there has been a further 133 Covid-19 cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area, the same number of cases as given on Friday for Thursday.
Over the past seven days, there were 1,062 cases recorded in the Derry and Strabane Council area.
The infection rates within Derry and Strabane is now the sixth lowest of all 11 councils in the North of Ireland with 703 cases per 100,000.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now at 105 per cent.
The Department of Health now records that 207 people (mostly in hospitals) have died from Coronavirus in the Derry City and Strabane Council area.
There are currently 454 patients with Covid-19 in hospitals here.
There are six patients with Covid-19 being treated in intensive care units, with six people on ventilators.
There are 22 people being treated in Altnagelvin Hospital with Coronavirus and no persons with Covid-19 are in intensive care.
The figures show that 10.06 per cent of beds in Altnagelvin Hospital are occupied by people with Coronavirus and it is running at 4.75 per cent over capacity for beds.
The Department of Health reports that 168 care homes in the North of Ireland are dealing with an outbreak of Coronavirus, with 1,252 closed cases of Covid-19 in care homes here.
In the Western Trust area, 22 of its 67 care homes are dealing with a Coronavirus outbreak.
A total of 3,722,351 vaccines for Covid-19 have been administered in the North of Ireland as of Monday.
