THE Department of Health has reported five further Covid-19-related death over the past 24 hours in the North of Ireland.
One of these latest deaths was recorded outside the current reporting period.
Deaths are measured by recording those who died within 28 days of receiving a positive result in a test for Coronavirus.
The total number of deaths linked to Covid-19 in the North of Ireland recorded by the Department of Health since the start of the pandemic is at 3,237.
None of these latest death were recorded over the weekend in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.
Today’s data from the Department of Health shows there has been a further 2,669 positive cases of Coronavirus in the North of Ireland, a rise of 616 figures given yesterday for Sunday.
It includes cases confirmed from samples taken in previous days, not necessarily just in the latest 24-hour reporting period.
As of today, the number of positive cases confirmed in the past seven days was 15,131.
The statistics show that in the past 24 hours there has been a further 207 Covid-19 cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area, a rise of 72 on figures given yesterday for Sunday.
Over the past seven days, there were 1,195 cases recorded in the Derry and Strabane Council area.
The infection rates within Derry and Strabane is now the fifth lowest of all 11 councils in the North of Ireland with 791 cases per 100,000.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals remains at 104 per cent.
The Department of Health now records that 210 people (mostly in hospitals) have died from Coronavirus in the Derry City and Strabane Council area.
There are currently 467 patients with Covid-19 in hospitals here.
There are two patients with Covid-19 being treated in intensive care units and both are on ventilators.
There are 20 people being treated in Altnagelvin Hospital with Coronavirus and no persons with Covid-19 are in intensive care.
The figures show that 8.61 per cent of beds in Altnagelvin Hospital are occupied by people with Coronavirus and it is running at 1.67 per cent over capacity for beds.
The Department of Health reports that 163 care homes in the North of Ireland are dealing with an outbreak of Coronavirus, with 1,285 closed cases of Covid-19 in care homes here.
In the Western Trust area, 24 of its 67 care homes are dealing with a Coronavirus outbreak.
A total of 3,732,407 vaccines have been administered to date across the North of Ireland as of Tuesday.
