SDLP Foyleside Councillor Lilian Seenoi-Barr has welcomed the news that Brooke Park has been shortlisted for the prestigious Urbanism Awards that celebrate the best and most improved urban environments in Europe.

Said Cllr Seenoi-Barr: “I am absolutely delighted that Brooke Park has been rightly shortlisted for this prestigious award.

“What an achievement that it has been selected in a competition that celebrates green spaces throughout the whole of Ireland, the UK and Europe.

“It is testament to the hard work and dedication of the team that led the regeneration of our beautiful park and I am pleased that they have received this recognition.

“The fact that Brooke Park has been shortlisted is another opportunity to celebrate Derry and attract more people to visit our city and make use of our beautiful parks.

“I wish the team all the best of luck for the rest of the awards.”
