Councillor Reilly was speaking after raising GAA provision at a meeting of the council’s Health and Communities Committee this week.
Said Cllr Reilly said: “I welcome confirmation that our local council has more than doubled its investment in GAA since 2017 from £30k to over £75k.
“During those years there has been a huge rise in interest in GAA activities and it is positive to see council working in partnership with the County Boards to deliver improvements in pitches and equipment.
“I look forward to hearing more from relevant officers who’ve committed to bringing back a further report before the end of the year on how this joined up approach will deliver a lasting legacy.”
