Man released over bomb bid on Derry police station

A 28-year-old man arrested in the Claudy area by detectives investigating a vehicle hijacking and subsequent security alert in the Waterside area of Derry on Sunday, November 20, has been released following questioning.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1664 20/11/22.

A delivery driver was hijacked by masked men in the Curryneirin area of Derry and forced at gunpoint to take a device to Waterside police station.

The driver of the grey Ford Mondeo car raised the alarm at the station in Richill Park and the area was evacuated.
