DERRY City and Strabane District Council says it is closing its pitches this weekend following a weather warning of heavy rain.
It said in a tweet this afternoon: “Council has taken the decision to close all of its grass pitches this weekend.
“This is due to the yellow weather warning for heavy rain that is forecast to continue until Sunday.
“We have been contacting all user groups directly and apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
