Police have charged a 37-year-old man with driving without due care and attention and handling property stolen in Co Donegal.
He is due to appear before Derry Magistrates’ Court today, Saturday, February 25, for a first remand hearing.
As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
The charges follow a report of a police vehicle being struck by a lorry which had been reported stolen, which occurred in the Lifford Road area of Strabane on Thursday, February 23.
Gardai had tried to stop the lorry on the Donegal side of the bridge but the lorry drove on.
It drove towards Strabane but then struck the rear of the police car.
The PSNI say no police officers were injured during the incident.
