A 23-year-old man was arrested today, Tuesday 21st March, on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to animals.
The arrest follows a report of pet dog Luna that was found injured and partially buried in Ballyarnett Country Park on Wednesday 15th March.
The man remains in custody at this time.
Peter Toland was charged with offences in relation to this matter and appeared at a special sitting of Dungannon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, March 18, for a first remand hearing.
He was released on bail with a surety of £1,000, to be electronically tagged and must report to police three times a week.Toland, of Cornshell Fields, is also banned from being with any animal unsupervised.
The 29-year-old thug gave himself up to police over his fears for his own safety following community outrage of what happened to lovely Luna.
