Man (60) arrested over DCI Caldwell murder bid

Detectives investigating the attempted murder of Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell on February 22 in Omagh have today, Thursday, March 30, arrested a 60-year-old man.

The man was arrested under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

He was arrested following the search of a property in Belfast.

The suspect has been taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning.

The New IRA later claimed responsibility for the murder bid.
