Police at scene of Co Derry security alert

The emergency services are at the scene of a security alert in the Magilligan area of Co Derry this morning, Friday, May 12.

A PSNI spokesperson said the alert is taking place in the Point Road area.

“A road closure and cordons are in place following a report of a suspicious object in the area.

“Motorists and members of the public are asked to avoid the area,” they added.

“A further update will be provided in due course.”
