Second day of counting for Derry and Strabane Council

Foyle Arena being used for council election count

Counting resumes at the Foyle Arena this morning at 8 am for the remaining seats on Derry City and Strabane District Council.

The counting in Waterside DEA has been completed and all seats have been filled.

Those duly elected were:

Caitlin Deeney, SF

Darren Guy, UUP

Christopher Jackson, SF

Chelsea Cooke, DUP

Niree McMorris, DUP

Sean Mooney, SDLP

Martin Reilly, SDLP.

Mooney and Reilly were elected without reaching the quota of 1,365 votes.

The counting in Sperrin DEA will resume this morning after no candidate was elected at the seventh stage last night.
