Mr. Reilly said: “Given the significant need for affordable housing in the Waterside area and across Derry, I have been fighting for new housing developments at Ballyoan for several years.
“It is a matter of significant concern to many people across Derry that over 3,400 households are homeless in our city, and this is the type of development that is needed to help tackle this issue.
“I am pleased to see this notice being made, particularly since the development would include a public open scape, a new children’s play area and a bus route.
“This development will hopefully come as welcome news to the many people I know are interested in seeing projects like this come to fruition, including everyone who wants to see the long awaited signalisation of Caw Roundabout.
“I welcome the news that people are able to have their say ahead of the application and would encourage everyone in the community with an interest to submit a response to these plans.”
