Friends of the young Derry hairdresser who was killed outside Buncrana, Co Donegal, in the early hours of Sunday morning, set up the Go Fund Me page with a target of £3,000.
However, hundreds of donations have poured in to honour the 21-year-old and the fund now stands at almost €6,000.
Rebecca was returning from a night out while away with friends when she was struck by a Garda car just outside Buncrana near the Applegreen Service Station.
The fundraising page reads: “We are hoping to raise funds for the family of Rebecca Browne, who was tragically killed in Buncrana during the early hours of Sunday morning 21st of May.
“Any contributions towards funeral costs and other expenses would greatly help Lynn, Jerry and Ethan at this extremely devastating time.”
Ms Browne, who was from a well-known family in Galliagh, worked at Sage Hair and Beauty salon in Spencer Road in the city. She had been staying in Ludden, Buncrana, close to where she was killed.
Meanwhile, Gardai have appealed for anybody with any information or possible dashcam footage of the incident to contact them.
