The 33-year-old has been charged with using a motor vehicle without insurance, assault on police and obstructing police.
He has been bailed to face Derry Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, for a first remand hearing.
As is usual procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
Meanwhile, officers from the PSNI’s Waterside Neighbourhood Policing Team have charged a 37-year-old man with a number of driving-related offences
The charges include driving with excess alcohol in breath, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.
The charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
The charges relate to incidents on Clooney Road in the city and on Victoria Road in Ballymagorry on Saturday, 27th May.
He is also to appear before Derry Magistrates’ Court next month on June 21.
