The programme was delivered last year with a direct objective of increasing the square footage of retail space in the city.
The three new stores have been opened by InCo, Vintage Star and Skin+ Scent who were all part of the Re:Imagine initiative – a pilot scheme under the programme where ten new sustainable brands were hosted in a pop up retail unit in Foyleside Shopping Centre.
InCo have opened a new boutique on 18 Shipquay Street which showcases a collaboration of two local fashion designers – InChlomo, founded by Strabane native fashion designer Chloe McGolgan and Coalesce Wearable, the brainchild of Art designer and founder Bridgene Graham.
The store has a mix of lifestyle and athleisure clothing from InChlomo which includes a Mums’ and Kids’ range inspired by Chloe’s ‘mini me’ twin daughters who are listed as directors of the company and can regularly be seen modelling the new seasons clothes.
The pieces are fun and trendy but importantly can be traced back to the brand’s aim to offer clothes that are comfortable, affordable and most importantly confidence boosting.
Bridgene’s Coalence collection is a unique street brand inspired by Japanese tattooing that caters for both adults and kids.
It includes their signature Black label – a luxurious silk section of kimonos and scarves as well as intricate and unique tattoo printed t-shirts, hats, sweatshirts and dresses.
The arty designs are created by a tattoo artist and printed locally to create beautiful and unique pieces to suit a range of budgets.
You can view this mix of two modern brands on their Social Media pages at @IN_CO_Collective.
The store offers a vast range of vintage clothing and handmade items such as aprons, hair accessories, corsages, and rockabilly-inspired pieces.
