Police have arrested a 26-year-old man following a road traffic collision in Derry’s Spencer Road area this morning, Thursday, October 19.
A report was received at around 5.55am of a crash between two vehicles, with one seen travelling at speed just before the collision.
The driver of the vehicle that was travelling at speed attempted to flee the scene, while the driver of the second vehicle needed hospital treatment for his injuries.
The man arrested by officers on suspicion of a number of driving offences remains in police custody at this time.
Spencer Road was closed for a period of time, but has since re-opened.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who has dash-cam footage, is asked to contact the PSNI on 101.
