The jury of nine men and three women delivered a unanimous verdict this afternoon.
Puska, aged 33, with an address at Lynally Grove, Mucklagh, Co. Offaly is expected to be sentenced to the mandatory term of life in prison.
Puska had pleaded not guilty to murdering the school teacher and folk singer at Cappincur, Tullamore, Co. Offaly on January 12, 2022.
The court heard that Puska murdered Ashling Murphy by stabbing her repeatedly in the neck.
The defence said that he claimed to have been stabbed by the same person who attacked 23-year-old Aisling.
The prosecution told the jury that in his evidence Puska had told “lies” which were “contemptible”.
Senior prosecutor Anne-Marie Lawlor said: “He brutally killed her.
“He killed her by inflicting substantial wounds on her.”
Mr Justice Hunt said that Puska’s evidence was “nonsense” and that victim impact statements will be heard from Ashling Murpy’s family before Puska is formally sentenced.
