Man released over investigation into murder bid on police officers

A 59-year-old man, arrested under the Terrorism Act in the Strabane area on Thursday, November 16, by detectives from the PSNI’s Terrorism Investigation Unit investigating the attempted murder of two police officers a year ago, has been released following questioning.

The man is to be reported to the Public Prosecution Service for an offence relating to the investigation.

The attempted murder of the officers in the Mount Carmel Heights area of Strabane remains ongoing, say police.
