As part of the company’s 80th celebrations, Moy Park launched a Christmas competition online, asking its surrounding communities in NI and GB to nominate a local school, with 40 winning schools each being surprised with a donation to support their Christmas festivities.
Twenty winning schools in NI and 20 in GB were randomly selected to receive £500 each, to help them ‘Make Magical Moments’ this Christmas.
Mrs Winters, Principal of Hezlett Primary School said: “We always try to make Christmas special for every child in school, but this £500 will allow a day of celebration, fun and games, fabulous food and a visit from Santa himself!”
Chris Murdock, Principal of Irish Society Primary School added: “This is a fantastic and unexpected boost to our annual Winter Wonderland event which is an amazing experience for our school community, children, parents and family members with story time with Santa, Mrs Claus’ trail, snow globe and much more.
“This money will be used for the finale of fireworks which will take place at the end of the night, creating many memories for families attending. We are grateful to Moy Park for this generous donation and have no doubt it will be a great way to start the celebrations at Christmas.”
Mr Crawford, Principal of Cumber Claudy Primary School added: “Thank you very much! We as a school are so happy to receive this exciting news.
“This donation will be used as a Christmas treat for our children and pay for our Christmas Magic Show coming to the whole school before the Christmas holidays.”
Ellen Wright, Moy Park Senior Brand Manager said: “The response from our surrounding communities has been amazing! We had over 7000 entries to the online competition, with 40 schools in NI and GB winning £500 to help them Make Magical Moments in their school this merry season.
“At Moy Park we’re delighted to celebrate our 80th birthday by giving back to our local schools.
“The money awarded to each winning school will be sure to add an extra bit of sparkle to their festivities.”
