Man charged with theft and causing damage to car in Derry

A 38-year-old man has been charged with theft, criminal damage and possessing an article with intent to damage a property.

He is scheduled to appear before Derry Magistrates’ Court today, Friday, February 23, for a first remand hearing.

The charges follow a report on Thursday, February 22, of a vehicle on Northland Road in Derry being broken into and a purse stolen.

As is usual procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
