Officers investigating a report of a man in possession of a knife in the Main Street area of Maghera this morning, Saturday 16th March, have made an arrest.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and being in possession of a blade or pointed weapon in a public place.
“He remains in custody at this time, assisting officers with their enquiries.
“The Main Street area has now fully reopened to traffic and pedestrians.
“We thank the public and local businesses owners for their patience while officers carried out enquiries in relation to this report.
“The investigation is continuing.”
