Sean Cruickshank had been wanted by police since August 2023 after his licence was revoked
The 35-year-old faced Derry Magistrates’ Court today charged with resisting and obstructing police on last Saturday, May 11.
Cruickshank, of Lislane Drive in the city, and also faced two charges of possessing drugs on the same date.
The wanted murderer was arrested after police were called to a report of two intoxicated drunk males near the Ballymagroarty Community Centre.
Cruickshank was identified as wanted by police since his licence was revoked last year.
On May 1, police issued his mugshot saying he was wanted for questioning over an incident.
After giving police a false name, Cruickshank took to heels and tried to escape but was chased down by officers. While on the ground, Pregablin and Xanax tablets were found.
He was then arrested for an assault charge from October 2023.
At his hearing today, Cruickshank was sentenced to three months in prison.
The thug was handed a life sentence after being convicted along with another man of the murder of a 19-year-old Donegal man Liam Anthony Devlin on August 4, 2007.
Following his conviction the court set a tariff of 11 years as the minimum Cruickshank had to serve before being considered for release by the Parole Commissioners.
Following his fresh three month sentence, it will be up to the Parole Commissioners to decide if it is safe to release him back into the community again.
