People Before Profit Foyle Westminster candidate councillor Shaun Harkin has said the Israeli Defence Force killed hundreds of Palestinians in the Nuseirat camp with the support of US military.
Said Cllr Harkin: “There is outrage across Derry and the globe for the massacre carried out by apartheid Israel supported directly by the US military in the Nuseirat refugee camp.
“274 people are reported to have been slaughtered and hundreds injured in this latest act of Israeli terror.
“Rishi Sunak and Keir Starmer celebrated the release of four Israeli hostages but failed to condemn the Israeli occupation army’s latest act of terrorism.
“Their silence shows their utter contempt for Palestinians.
“US President Joe Biden continues to provide Israel with unlimited amounts of military hardware and intelligence to continue the Gaza slaughter.
“Palestinians are challenging claims from US military command that the American army built pier off the Gaza coast, supposedly created to provide humanitarian aid, isn’t being used by Israel to launch attacks across Gaza.
“The US arms Israel even though the United Nations formally added the apartheid regime to the global blacklist of states murdering children.
“We need to make ending the genocide in Gaza a central issue in the General Election.
“Tory/Labour support for genocide must be directly confronted by anti-apartheid campaigners.
“Parties describing Biden as a ‘great ally of Ireland’ are betraying the Palestinian people. He and his representatives are complicit with Israel’s genocide in thought and deed.
“People Before Profit demand the harshest military, trade and political sanctions are imposed on Israel and corporations profiting from genocide.
“This is the opposite of what establishment parties in Westminster, Stormont and the Dàil have been prepared to call for.
“We urge people to continue to build mass pressure on governments while to end the Gaza massacre.
“When it comes to July 4, People Before Profit can be counted on to be a thorn in the side of parties backing the Gaza genocide.”
