Suspicious objects sparks security alert in Derry

Police are currently at the scene of a security alert at Derry’s Skeoge Link Road.

It follows the discovery of a suspicious object in the area this afternoon, Thursday, August 22.

A number of homes in the area have been evacuated as a precaution.

Motorists and pedestrians are asked to avoid the area at present, and there are a number of cordons currently in place.

Police say a further update will be provided in due course.
