Thousands of people are expected in Derry for the 2024 Foyle Pride parade this afternoon.
It comes at end of 10-day Pride festival in the city which started on Thursday, August 15.
This year’s festival- which organisers have said is a celebration of diversity and inclusivity – has had community, local and global, as its central theme.
The festival has grown in the last 30 years to become one of “the key dates in the city’s calendar”, said Mayor of Derry and Strabane, Councillor Lilian Seenoi-Barr.
“It’s a real celebration of diversity and individuality, the parade embodies inclusion and the atmosphere on the day is electric,” she added.
The parade leaves the North West Transport Hub at 2 pm before crossing the Craigavon bridge, and making its way through the city centre.
Police have advised motorists to expect delays in parts of the city during the parade.
A family fun day and a Guildhall Square party will take place following the parade.
