Staff and Service Users were warmly welcomed by the Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Lilian Seenoi Barr recently.
A Western Trust spokesperson said: “Staff and Service Users were warmly welcomed by the Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Lilian Seenoi Barr, earlier this week.
“Not only did they all experience her wonderful hospitality, over morning tea, coffee and tray bakes, but service users also enjoyed the experience of seeing where the politics of the areas actually occurs.
“Service users had the opportunity to dress up in the Flight of the Earls period costumes before being given a tour of the Guildhall, some marveling at the beautiful stain glass windows.
“More fun was to be had when each Service User got the opportunity to try on and hear first hand the history of the ‘Mayoral Chain of Office’.
“Each service user got the opportunity to pass ‘their own laws’ whilst wearing the Chain, some stating that “five days isn’t enough at the Valley Centre”.
“The Valley Centre is still buzzing from their day at the Guildhall and want to make plans for more days like this.
“Thank you to Mayor Seenoi Barr for your time and welcome.”
