Murder victim Kyle McDermott
Daniel Patrick Hanna, from Victoria Road, Strabane, appeared at Dungannon Magistrates’ Court for a first remand hearing.
Hanna spoke only to confirm he understood the charge put to him by the court clerk.
Mr McDermott, from Ballymagorry in Co Tyrone, died on Sunday.
A PSNI detective told the court they could connect Hanna to the charge.
With no application for bail, Hanna was remanded in custody.
He will appear back in court Thursday, October 31, at Strabane Magistrates’ Court.
Kyle McDermott, 24, who is originally from Burt in Co Donegal, died after being taken to hospital following an incident in Ballymagorry shortly after 11.30 pm on Sunday.
Detectives made a direct witness appeal in relation to the police investigation on Tuesday.
They said they wanted to speak with the occupants of a blue car that was parked on Victoria Road on Sunday evening.
Police believe that a passenger may have captured mobile footage of the attack.
