The SDLP’s Mark H Durkan has welcomed the decision to remove hoarding in Foyle Street.
Said the Foyle MLA: “After advocating on behalf of Foyle Street businesses around the impact ongoing water infrastructure upgrades is having on trade, I’ve received confirmation from NI Water that hoarding will be removed from Monday 2nd December.
“This is good news in the lead up to the Christmas period.
“I hope that it will help improve visibility, accessibility and footfall for these businesses.
“I fully recognise that it won’t make up for losses businesses are suffering due to prolonged closure of the street but we will continue to push the Finance Minister for fairness on a rates reduction for those affected.”
