Police conducting road safety operations this week in Derry
Police Derry City and Strabane say: “Officers were conducting drink drive checkpoints throughout our city as part of road safety week on Tuesday evening, these random breath tests are being conducted on all drivers stopped.
“Despite the conditions being freezing cold, roads wet and treacherous, a driver today has been arrested who was 3 and a half times the drink drive limit.
“Can you imagine the consequences if they met you or your loved ones on the road?
“We thank the many drivers who we stopped who blew zero for driving safely.
“These operations will continue.
“It’s not worth it to ever drink and drive!”
