An updated yellow weather warning has been issued for the North of Ireland.
The Met Office has advised of strong and gusty winds which are set to batter the region later today.
The alert is due to come into force this afternoon.
However, it will now end slightly earlier, with forecasters predicting the worst will be over by 3am on Friday morning, rather than 6am, as originally envisaged.
The alert applies to all six Northern Irish counties.
The warning area has also been extended south across England and Wales.
According to the Met Office, some disruption is possible from the winds.
It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and or large waves.
Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are also likely.
The Met Office urged the public to be aware that some short term loss of power and other services is possible.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “Westerly or northwesterly winds will increase during Thursday afternoon and evening.
“Inland gusts of 40-50 mph are possible, with perhaps 60-70 mph along exposed coasts, especially through the North Channel and Irish Sea, causing some travel disruption.
“Strong gusts will also be associated with heavy, squally bursts of rain in places.”
