The Met Office has issued a warning that icy conditions will continue tomorrow, after parts of the North of Ireland woke up to snow this morning.
Icy conditions are set to remain, with a yellow weather warning in place between 5pm today and 10am on Friday.
It follows an earlier alert from the forecaster for icy conditions, which was in place until 10am this morning.
The Met Office has warned that icy surfaces could impact travel conditions.
The majority of Northern Ireland counties are included in the warning, along with parts of England, Scotland and Wales.
The Met Office said: “Scattered wintry showers will be replaced by a longer spell of rain and sleet for a time on Thursday night, particularly across western Scotland and Northern Ireland.
“As temperatures dip below freezing, this will lead to a risk of ice formation on untreated surfaces, especially inland.”
An ice warning is in force for much of the UK as temperatures dropped.
For some parts of the North of Ireland, this meant some snow in the early hours of today.
Parts of Mid Ulster, Co Derry, Co Antrim and County Armagh were among those affected by the brief snowfall.
Ireland will also be placed under a low temperature/ice warning this evening.
The Status Yellow weather warning will come into effect at 6pm on Thursday evening and will stay in place until 11am on Friday morning.
Forecasters issued the warning as temperatures are set to fall to -5 degrees or below in many areas, and “very cold” weather with widespread frost and ice is expected.
