Sadness as young man dies after tree falls on car in Donegal

Gardai have confirmed that a young man involved in a road traffic accident on the main Letterkenny to Lifford on Friday morning during Storm Eowyn has sadly died.

The accident happened at approximately 5.30 am at Feddyglass, Raphoe, Donegal.

Subsequently Gardaí and local Emergency Services have attended the scene where a tree fell on a car.

A male driver, was fatally injured during the incident.

The body of the deceased remains at the scene at this time.

Gardaí are working with local authority and third party contractors to facility the removal of the remains of the deceased from the scene.

N14 remains closed at this time.

Forensic collision investigator and divisional scenes of crime have commenced investigation at the scene.

Investigations are ongoing.
