POLICE have arrested a man for allegedly attempting to enter properties in a Co Derry village.
The PSNI confirmed the arrest in Bellarena, just outside Limavady, on Friday following reports that a male was trying to enter a number of properties in Oughtymoyle Avenue.
During the arrest, police say a number of suspected class A controlled drugs were seized for forensic examination.
Posting on social media, a Police Causeway Coast and Glens said: “The local Policing Team from Limavady arrested the male on suspicion of a number of offences following the report of him trying doors to properties the area.
“During the arrest of the male a large number of deal bags containing suspected class A controlled drugs were located.
“Please continue to report any suspicious behaviour.”
Local MLA Claire Sugden said: “Good outcome. I spoke with residents this morning who were clearly shaken and scared by the incidents.
“Look forward to seeing justice against this individual.”
