Man to face court over discovery of chilling rucksack in Co Derry
He has been charged with common assault and false imprisonment in connection with the find.
The items – which included condoms, blue surgical gloves, cable ties, a change of clothes, a balaclava and other items.
They were found in the Strand Road area of the town on Thursday, February 13 .
The man is also charged with possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence, domestic abuse offences, and two counts of theft.
He is due to appear before Coleraine Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 24, for a first remand hearing.
The suspect was arrested in the Portstewart area on Saturday morning.
