A hospitality business has said it’s selling its award-winning Derry restaurant in a bid to “consolidate its portfolio”.
El Tapas Grá in Waterloo Place is now up for sale for £100,000 just a week after it won the gong for Best Wine Experience at the Irish Restaurant Awards.
The online advertisement for its sale says: “We are pleased, on the instructions of the owners, to offer for sale as a going concern this successful restaurant business.
“The premises are currently leased to the business owners, and a new lease can be entered into with the landlord.”
The popular spot on 7 Waterloo Place in the city has received rave reviews since it first opened in 2015.
Founder Sáne Stewart told Belfast Telegraph: “We have multiple business interests across multiple industries and we are simply consolidating our portfolio in current economic climate.
“It has been a fantastic business for ourselves these last 10 years- one of the most popular in Derry with fantastic staff.
“Derry is a thriving and growing hospitality location and hopefully someone can continue on this business through El Tapas Grá brand.”
The sale includes a 42-cover restaurant and professional kitchen, private dining area with capacity for 50 people and an alcohol and entertainment licence.
Businesses have been facing the impact of a rise in the National Living Wage to £12.21 an hour, and an increase in employer national insurance contributions.
National insurance has now reached 15%, up from 13.8%.
The measures were introduced earlier this month after they were first announced in the Autumn Budget of 2024.
